Prepseen
Prepseen — Terms of Service
Effective date: 1 July 2026
Provider: Prepseen (“we”, “us”)
Contact: support@prepseen.app
By creating an account or using Prepseen, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree,
don’t use the service. Please also read our Privacy Policy.
1. What Prepseen is
Prepseen is an interview-practice tool. It records your spoken answers, transcribes them
on your device, researches the company and (where you ask) named interviewers, and uses
AI to generate practice questions and feedback. Your voice recordings stay on your
device; your written practice data (roles, transcripts, feedback, prep notes) syncs
to your account so it follows you across devices (see the Privacy Policy).
We offer two ways to run the AI:
- Free / local mode: inference runs through the Claude command-line tool on your own
machine, under your own Anthropic account. You are responsible for complying with
Anthropic’s terms for that usage.
- Paid / managed mode: you buy credits, and we run inference for you via our
managed infrastructure (no Anthropic key of your own required).
2. Accounts
- You need an account (magic-link email sign-in) to use managed features. Keep your
email and access secure; you’re responsible for activity under your account.
- You must be at least 16 and able to form a binding contract (if you are under the age of
majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian’s consent).
- Provide accurate information and keep it current.
3. Credits, purchases, and the Merchant of Record
- Credits are a prepaid, in-app unit consumed when you run managed inference. The
number of credits a given action consumes depends on usage (e.g. tokens processed).
- Credits have no cash value, are not money, and are non-transferable. Credits do not expire.
- Merchant of Record: purchases are sold and processed by Paddle, our reseller
and Merchant of Record. Your purchase contract for payment is with Paddle, and
Paddle’s Buyer Terms and checkout terms also apply to the transaction. Paddle
handles payment, billing, and applicable sales tax/VAT; Prepseen does not receive or
store your card details.
- We grant credits to your account once Paddle confirms a completed payment.
- Prices and pack sizes may change; changes don’t affect credits you’ve already bought.
4. Refunds, chargebacks, and account suspension
- Refunds — all sales are final. Credits are a digital product supplied
immediately. By purchasing, you ask us to make the credits available right away and
acknowledge that, to the extent permitted by law, you therefore lose any right to
withdraw or cancel once credits have been delivered. Except as set out below, all
purchases are non-refundable.
- Where refunds still apply. Refunds are handled by Paddle (our Merchant of
Record) under its Buyer Terms, and your mandatory statutory consumer rights are not
affected — for example, cancellation/refund rights under the Israeli Consumer
Protection Law, or the right of withdrawal for EU/UK consumers (each subject to the
rules on already-supplied digital content/services). Eligible refund requests go through
Paddle.
- Effect on credits. If a purchase is refunded or reversed, we may claw back the
corresponding credits from your balance.
- Chargebacks / disputes. A payment dispute or chargeback is treated as a serious
signal. We may immediately suspend or disable the associated account and reverse
the related credits. If a dispute is resolved in your favor, we’ll restore access.
- We may also suspend or terminate accounts for breach of these Terms, suspected fraud
or abuse, or to comply with law.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Prepseen for anything unlawful, or to harass, defame, or build profiles of, or
otherwise misuse information about, real individuals (including interviewers) beyond
legitimate, lawful interview preparation;
- attempt to bypass credit metering, rate limits, authentication, or billing, or to
obtain managed inference without paying;
- probe, scrape, overload, or disrupt the service or its providers;
- resell, sublicense, or provide the managed service to third parties; or
- submit content you don’t have the right to submit, or that violates others’ rights.
You are responsible for how you use AI-generated output and any information you gather
about third parties.
6. AI output — no guarantees, not professional advice
- AI-generated questions and feedback are practice aids. They can be inaccurate,
incomplete, or biased, and may misstate facts about a company or person.
- Prepseen does not guarantee any interview or employment outcome, and its output is
not career, legal, financial, psychological, or other professional advice.
- Verify anything important before relying on it. Decisions you make based on the
output are your own.
7. Your content
- You retain all rights to your recordings, transcripts, notes, and other content; we
don’t claim ownership.
- Your voice recordings stay on your device. You grant us the limited permission
needed to store and sync your written practice data (roles, transcripts, feedback,
prep) to your account, and to transiently process the prompts you submit on the
managed plan to return your results (see Privacy Policy §3–§4).
- On-device audio isn’t backed up by us — clearing your browser storage or losing the
device may permanently delete recordings. Your synced written data can be recovered by
signing in on another device, and exported at any time (Privacy Policy §10).
8. Intellectual property; license to use Prepseen
The Prepseen source code is made available under the open-source MIT license in our
public repository, and your use of that code is governed by the MIT license terms. These
Terms instead govern the hosted managed service (accounts, credits, our inference
proxy) and the Prepseen name, logo, and branding, which are proprietary to Prepseen.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable
license to use the hosted service for your own interview preparation. Nothing here grants
you rights in the Prepseen brand.
9. Third-party services
Prepseen depends on third parties (Anthropic, Clerk, Paddle, PostHog, hosting, and
others). Their terms govern their parts of the service, and we’re not responsible for
their acts or omissions. Availability of managed features may depend on these providers.
10. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind,
to the fullest extent permitted by law, including any implied warranties of
merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t warrant
that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will be accurate.
[Some jurisdictions don’t allow these exclusions; where that’s so, they may not apply to
you, and nothing here limits non-excludable statutory consumer guarantees.]
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Prepseen will not be liable for indirect,
incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits,
opportunities, or interview/employment outcomes. Our total liability for any claim
relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for
credits in the 3 months before the claim, or (b) USD 50. This clause does not exclude
liability that cannot lawfully be excluded (such as for death or personal injury caused by
negligence, or for fraud), and does not limit non-excludable statutory consumer rights.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Prepseen against claims arising from your misuse of the service,
your violation of these Terms or law, or your handling of information about third parties.
13. Changes to the service and these Terms
We may modify or discontinue features, and we may update these Terms. For material
changes we’ll update the effective date and provide reasonable notice. Continued use after
changes take effect means you accept them. If you don’t agree, stop using the service; any
unused credits remain non-refundable but you may continue to use them until your access
ends.
14. Termination
You may stop using Prepseen and delete your account at any time (see Privacy Policy §10).
We may suspend or terminate access as described in §4. On termination, your license ends.
Unused credits are non-refundable, and are forfeited if we terminate or suspend
your account for breach of these Terms, fraud, or a chargeback (§4). This does not affect
any mandatory statutory refund right you may have.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and disputes will be
resolved in the competent courts of Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel, without prejudice to any
mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
16. Miscellaneous
These Terms (with the Privacy Policy and any Paddle buyer terms that apply to your
purchase) are the entire agreement between you and us about the service. If a provision is
unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a right isn’t a waiver. You may
not assign these Terms; we may assign them to a successor.
